Life insurance, without the small print fog.

Support your loved ones with straightforward cover designed to ease financial burdens when you’re no longer here. We explain every detail so you feel confident in your decision.

Life insurance
In a sentence

A tax-efficient lump sum (or monthly income) for the people you leave behind, so the mortgage, the bills and the plans don’t have to change.

Who it’s for

Is it right for you?

Parents who want the children’s future paid for, whatever happens

Couples where one income would struggle to cover the household

Anyone with debts they wouldn’t want to pass on

How it works

You choose an amount of cover and a length of time, the term. You pay a monthly premium, and if you die during the term the policy pays out to the people or trust you’ve chosen. If you outlive the term, the cover simply ends.

What we do

We look at what your family would actually need: the mortgage, day-to-day income until the children are grown, and the one-off costs. Then we search the market for cover that fits, and explain the differences between insurers in plain English.

Writing it in trust

Most of our clients put their policy in trust. It usually means the money reaches your family faster, skips probate and can sit outside your estate for inheritance tax. We’ll walk you through the forms; it takes about ten minutes.

Options we’ll talk through

The choices, explained.

There’s no single right answer. These are the decisions we’ll go through with you, so you understand exactly what you’re buying.

Level term

The payout stays the same for the whole term. Good for family income and interest-only mortgages.

Decreasing term

The payout falls over time, roughly in line with a repayment mortgage, so it usually costs less.

Family income benefit

Pays a monthly income instead of a lump sum, until the end of the term. Often the most affordable way to replace a salary.

Joint or single

One policy covering two people (pays once) or two separate policies (can pay twice). We’ll show you both.

Illustrative example

Sam, 34, two children under five

Sam and Priya have a £210,000 repayment mortgage and rely on both salaries. We set up decreasing cover to clear the mortgage, plus family income benefit paying a monthly sum until their youngest turns 21.

Both policies were written in trust, so if the worst happened the money would go straight to the family without waiting for probate.

All FAQs
How much life insurance do I need?

Enough to clear your debts and replace the income your family would lose, for as long as they’d need it. Our cover calculator gives you a rough figure in two minutes; on a call we’ll sharpen it.

Do I need a medical?

Usually not. Most applications are a set of health and lifestyle questions. Occasionally an insurer asks for a GP report or a short nurse screening, and they arrange and pay for it.

What if my circumstances change?

Many policies let you increase cover after life events such as moving house or having a baby, without new medical questions. We review your cover with you whenever life changes.
