Protecting the business, and the people behind it.
Your business depends on people. Business protection keeps it steady if an owner or key person dies or falls seriously ill, and stops business debts landing on families.

Four ways to protect what you’ve built.
Tailored for you. We break down complex options into easy-to-understand choices, without drowning you in technical terms.
Key person cover
Protecting the business from the loss of the person it can’t do without.
- Owner-managed businesses where one person wins most of the work
- Firms relying on a specialist, salesperson or technical lead
Relevant life cover
Death-in-service style life cover for directors and employees, paid by the business.
- Company directors of limited companies
- Small firms wanting to offer a valued benefit to staff
Shareholder protection
Keeping control of the business with the people who built it.
- Limited companies with two or more shareholders
- Partnerships and LLPs (partnership protection)
Business loan protection
Clearing business debts and personal guarantees if the worst happens.
- Directors who’ve signed personal guarantees
- Businesses with commercial mortgages, loans or asset finance
We work with your accountant and solicitor.
Business protection touches tax, company law and shareholder agreements. We arrange the cover and work alongside your professional advisers so everything lines up.

Is it the same as shareholder protection?
No. Key person cover protects the business’s finances. Shareholder protection funds the purchase of an owner’s shares. Many businesses need both.
Who can have relevant life cover?
Directors and employees of a limited company or LLP. Sole traders and equity partners can’t, as there’s no separate employer.
What’s a cross-option agreement?
A legal agreement giving the surviving owners the option to buy, and the family the option to sell, the shares. It’s what makes the cover work in practice.
Do you help businesses?
Yes. We advise on key person cover, relevant life policies, shareholder protection and business loan protection, and we work alongside your accountant and solicitor.
